Nutmeg essential oil has a middle note fragrance and a medium to strong scent that’s both rich and sweet and carries bosky and spicy undertones. It blends well with a number of other essential oils adding warmth and piquancy to lavender, clary sage, geranium, rosemary, petitgrain, orange, and other spice oils.
Nutmeg oil is used extensively by aromatherapists who believe it has natural healing qualities.
Historically, nutmeg was used in India to treat intestinal disorders whilst the ancient Egyptians included it in the embalming process and the Italians turned to it during times of plague. During the Middle Ages, it was ground down and fused with lard to make an ointment for piles. Today, it has a more glamorous role in the retail industry as an ingredient in soaps, candles, dental products and hair lotions.
Our 100% pure nutmeg essential oil is available in bottle sizes from 10ml up to 5000ml.
