Used for centuries in the creation of fragrances, vetiver organic essential oil is valued for its earthy, woody aroma, producing a more masculine scent. Its aroma reflects its origins deep in the earth, in the root system of grasses native to India and Sri Lanka. The steam distillation process releases the essential oil from the roots. In their native land, the tough, fibrous roots themselves serve as a natural air conditioner when woven into curtains and sprayed with water, creating a cool and fragrant breeze.
Vetiver’s rich yet sweetly satisfying fragrance blends perfectly with cedarwood, or can be mixed with chamomile, frankincense, or ginger for something mild yet spicy. It’s also a natural soulmate to rose, spikenard vanilla and lavender.
