The flower heads of this member of the daisy family are gathered in Nepal and steam distilled to produce this distinctive blue oil with a strong scent. The active ingredient of German blue chamomile essential oil is ‘chamazulene’, which gives it its distinctive blue colour and is responsible for its therapeutic benefits. It has a similar aroma to Roman chamomile but has a particularly straw-like note. Both German and Roman chamomile will be a valuable addition to your essential oil kit as both oils have different attributes.
Mix this straw-scented oil with many different essential oils including bergamot, geranium, lavender, jasmine, clary sage and patchouli, to name just a few.
